Detroit Autorama 2012 is right around the corner
Hello Fellow pinstripe artists, sign painters, airbrush artists and friends. The Motor City Auto Art Mavens will host their 3rd Annual Charity Panel Jam at Detroit’s Cobo Hall on February 24-26, 2012. Together we have raised over $80,000.00 for Leader Dogs for the Blind. We hope 2012 will set a new auction record.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, the artist participation will be reduced to 75 artists this year. Many invitations have been sent to artists who have contributed in the past so we can assure they will get first shot at returning. If you have received an invitation and would like to pre-register, please click here. If all 75 slots have not been filled by Jan. 9, 2012, we will open up registration to any artist wishing to come down and help out a good cause.
As usual, we’ll have a goody bag for each artist, meals provided to help you save some money, commemorative trinkets from the show, and door prizes that’ll make your eyes pop. The Mavens supply all paint – OneShot enamels, turps, cups, etc., plus beautifully prepped panels, skateboard blanks, license plates, etc. on which to get creative. On Saturday morning we’re planning seminars and Q&A in striping and lettering with experienced pros.
The Mavens Lifetime Achievement Award this year goes to “Wild Bill” Betz. He truly has earned this award! Come help us celebrate his life time of contributions to automotive art and more.
Head to Detroit this Feb. 24-26 and get your paint batteries recharged. Friends, stories, lies, new connections, be seen, be inspired! It’s all here. Hope you can join the fun.
Below are some videos from past years.

Wow! 2011 was a great show everyone! Together, we raised $38,386.00 for Leader Dogs for the Blind.
Detroit has a rich history of automotive art, unmatched in the world. In this tradition, The Motor City Auto Art Mavens are a group of local paint-slinging pinstripers, sign-painters and airbrush artists whose skills have been passed down from master to apprentice for generations.
The Mavens combine the handcrafted traditions of the past with today's technology to help preserve this rich, important history. All of the Detroit Maven artists are volunteers. 100% of all proceeds from all events go toward a worthy charity. In 2010, our chosen charity is again Leader Dogs for the Blind.
