Detroit Autorama 2014 is right around the corner
Dear Fellow Auto Artist,
It’s time to get ready for the Motor City Auto Art Mavens’ Panel Jam 2014 at the Detroit AutoRama. We will be opening up registration by email soon. This year’s show dates are March 7,8,9. Again, we’ll host nearly 100 of America’s best pinstripers, sign painters, airbrush artists, and others slinging paint together to raise money for a deserving charity. Our 50’x100’ Paint Pit is in the middle of the Detroit AutoRama Show - the biggest indoor custom car show in the country.
For you newbies, this event is a great opportunity for inspiration, new ideas, and making new friends in the trade. The Motor City Auto Art Mavens is a local group that works nearly year round to put on this special event. We are all volunteers and receive NO compensation. 100% of all the money is given to our charity. The Mavens’ mission is to teach the old school skills of brush and paint to create a brotherhood while raising money for a good cause.
Each artist gets two free passes (NO EXTRAS) to the show for each day. As usual, all panels, paint and materials are supplied by the Mavens. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are supplied by Leader Dogs FOR ARTISTS AND ONE GUEST. Plus the goody bags and the awesome door prize giveaway comes from the Mavens. All artists (and Mavens) supply their own transportation and accommodations. Host hotels are listed on the left side of the website.
Another request we’ve had is for the artists looking to share the cost of a room. Please contact Rick Stier at 810-543-1257 or Rick_Stier@yahoo.com and we’ll do our best to match you up.
One last reminder – this weekend is dedicated to giving. We ask that you bring, or produce on site, at least one quality art piece per day. Our goal is to use our talents for the two things:
1) Raising money for Leader Dogs for the Blind, and
2) Learning and sharing with other artists. Please be generous in accomplishing both goals. NO PERSONAL SALES will be allowed unless you get a vendor’s license and a booth.
Please bring any pre-made panels, lots of business cards, your paint kit, and you enthusiasm!
Any questions, please contact email@example.com
Have a great holiday, Happy New Year, hope you can join us in Detroit this year.
Below are some videos from past years.
Check out some 2013 Highlights
Detroit has a rich history of automotive art, unmatched in the world. In this tradition, The Motor City Auto Art Mavens are a group of local paint-slinging pinstripers, sign-painters and airbrush artists whose skills have been passed down from master to apprentice for generations.
The Mavens combine the handcrafted traditions of the past with today's technology to help preserve this rich, important history. All of the Detroit Maven artists are volunteers. 100% of all proceeds from all events go toward a worthy charity. In 2014, our chosen charity is again Leader Dogs for the Blind.
